Our Mission
To provide a static collaborative online resource for the Wagner College Community.
The Wagner community engages in Experiential Learning.
As part of the Wagner Plan students volunteer for services within the Staten Island community. In addition to local field work, students travel overseas in our Expanding Your Horizons EYH program to volunteer, and learn about diverse communities. Wagnerpedia is a place where students can develop resource pages and share their learning experiences with the Wagner and Staten Island Community. Interested in coming to Wagner? See our Admissions Section!
We Want to Preserve Wagner's History
Every page that is created becomes a part of the permanent History of the Wiki. Even if your age is edited later on, the old revision is kept; thereby, providing a rich historical account of the time you spent at Wagner, and work that was produced.
Wagner College is dedicated to helping students write better and produce quality work.
Wagnerpedia is a place where final papers can be posted and subjected to peer review, and collaborative editing. These final papers and projects created in class and posted on Wagnerpedia will engage students and allow them to take ownership of their work while displaying useful information to all academic communities.
Welcome to Wagnerpedia!
Scholarship
Wagnerpedia offers faculty members and students an opportunity to address the growing concerns surrounding issues such as Information Fluency, Information Literacy, and Plagiarism, by providing a shared, collaborative, environment moderated fully by peer review. Wikipedia welcomes submissions from every Academic Department in the form of pictures, text and sound, on every topic ranging from History, to Chemistry.
Wagnerpedia uses web 2.0 technology to engage students to construct a highly visable, useful form of their work. The office of Information Technology and Academic Computing believe Wagnerpedia will be a strong addition to Moodle and the growing list of services we provide.
How Wagnerpedia Works
Wagnerpedia is built on the same technology as Wikipedia, except all of the content is created by Wagner. All students, faculty, staff and administrators can edit, and alumni can edit as well. If you have a Club, Sorority, Literary Magazine or Honor Society you are welcome to your own page! Graduating students will be able to watch and maintain their pages for years to come.
